Story:
Varun (Nani) and Nithya (Samantha) like each other from childhood which turns into love. But the duo keeps breaking up multiple times over minor issues. And while in the college days, the duo part ways again with Nithya getting too possessive about Varun and a brief discussion makes them go for break-up for umpteenth time. Will Varun and Nithya meet again? Will they succeed in love forms the crux.
Performances:
Nani delivers a stellar performance as Varun, a simple boy next door role. He is convincing and natural especially in the climax. Nani yet again proved that he is a good performer.
Samantha is extremely gorgeous and has pulled off the role Nithya with three distinct roles as a school girl, college going youngster and a matured woman. Samantha pulls of the role with ease and her expressions are a treat. Samantha is an asset and highlight of Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu. Her fans will be rejoiced.
Krishnudu does a comic role and he is impressive with one liners. Others were adequate.
Technical Analysis:
Ilayaraja’s musical scores are classy and melodious which are aesthetically shot by the makers. Cinematography is subdued and the crucial scenes are taken in long shots, care should have been taken on the camera placement. However, all the songs are beautifully captured. Gautham Menon’s direction as usual is good while the screenplay is tad slow though had many gripping moments. Editing could have been better.
Analysis:
The romantic scenes are well shot and Ilayaraja’s background score and songs compliments the proceeding quite well. The only issue of YVM is its slow pace. The first half drags a lot though Gautham Menon’s narration and lead actors fine performances keeps you hooked. The long break-up scenes and the arguments could have been shortened though. The story deals with young couple who are in love but also breaks-up several times for minor issues. Possessiveness, difference of opinions, arguments between the couples and this leads to break-up are all realistically shown that many would relate to their real lives. Crisp editing and better dialogues could have made Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu a perfect watch.
Final Verdict:
Yeto Vellipoindi Manasu entertains with feel good romance, if you look beyond its tad slow pace.
